Chanterelle — Cantharellus species
Chanterelles are woodland mushrooms known for their golden-yellow colour, funnel-shaped caps, and ridged undersides.
They grow from the ground in association with the roots of living trees, forming mycorrhizal relationships that help both the fungus and its host tree exchange nutrients.
Chanterelles are most often found in forested habitats during the warmer, wetter part of the growing season.
