Fly Agaric — Amanita muscaria
Fly agaric is one of the most recognizable mushrooms in the world, known for its bright red cap covered in white wart-like patches.
It grows in association with the roots of trees, forming mycorrhizal relationships with species such as birch, pine, spruce, and fir.
Fly agaric is poisonous and should not be eaten. It is found across much of the Northern Hemisphere and can occur in forests throughout Atlantic Canada.
