FIELD GUIDE NOTES
Pumpkin — Cucurbita spp.
Pumpkins are members of the squash family and are grown throughout New Brunswick as a warm-season crop.
Their large vines produce yellow flowers that develop into the familiar round fruits, which can range from pale yellow to deep orange depending on the variety.
Pumpkins are harvested in late summer and autumn and have become an unmistakable part of the New Brunswick fall landscape.
