Acadian Redfish — Sebastes fasciatus
Acadian redfish are deep-water fish of the northwest Atlantic, recognized by their bright reddish-orange colour, large eyes, and spiny fins.
They are commonly associated with rocky or rough seafloor habitats and can be found in the waters off Atlantic Canada.
Redfish are slow-growing and long-lived, and unlike many fishes, females give birth to live young rather than laying eggs.
