Black-throated Blue Warbler — Setophaga caerulescens
The black-throated blue warbler is a small forest songbird known for the male’s deep blue back, black throat and face, and bright white belly.
It breeds in mature deciduous and mixed forests, especially where there is a dense understory, and feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates.
In New Brunswick, black-throated blue warblers can be found during the breeding season before migrating south for the winter.
