Dogbane Leaf Beetle — Chrysochus auratus
The dogbane leaf beetle is a small, brilliantly coloured beetle with an iridescent body that can appear metallic green, blue, copper, or gold depending on the light.
It is closely associated with dogbane plants, especially spreading dogbane, which both adults and larvae feed on.
Adults are most often seen in summer, where their vivid colour makes them stand out against the green leaves of their host plants.
