Yellow Warbler — Setophaga petechia
The yellow warbler is a small songbird recognized by its bright yellow plumage and fine reddish streaking on the breast of adult males.
It is commonly found in shrubby wetlands, woodland edges, thickets, and areas near streams and ponds, where it feeds mainly on insects.
Yellow warblers return to New Brunswick in spring to breed and are often heard singing from exposed branches throughout the warmer months.
